Beverly Hills High Principal Sues Board for Race Discrimination

Emanuel Shirazi

Carter Paysinger, principal of Beverly Hills High School, filed a federal lawsuit against the school district for racial discrimination. Paysinger alleges that board members made racial comments about him and continuously denied him and his family job opportunities. In the 32-page complaint, Paysinger also alleges there had been a pay disparity between him and other white administrators.

Not only was Paysinger once a student at the school, he has worked for the district for nearly four decades, first as a longtime football coach and then as principal in 2010.

Paysinger is still principal of Beverly HIlls High School but feels the district has tarnished his reputation.

The lawsuit coincidentally coincides with the release of Paysinger’s memoirs. Do you think this is all just an elaborate PR stunt?
